I don't understand why people own kill- shelters.
They don't put homeless people into kill shelters, so why do the put animals in them?
These pictures are of dogs at kill shelters:

Cars
Here is something I'm thinking about today.
Cars Are Not Nice!
I mean they're useful, but hurt the environment a lot.
Look at the earth, ice melting, it's awful just thinking about it!What can I do about it?

Not Just Meat
When I was going to camp today and we were coming back from swimming, my friend and I were talking about something when she said, "Have you ever tried fish eggs?"I am a vegetarian from birth so I of course said"Ewwwww fish eggs? Yuck!" And she said"Well it's normal because you're a vegetarian. And if you weren't a vegetarian, you would think it was good." Then I said"I guess so"
Then she said something I couldn't believe, she said"to most other people, a cow is just meat."
I was shocked.
Once again look at these poor, innocent animals

I know what I said about eating fish eggs were wrong,
but I have to say that what she said was one of the worst things I have ever heard....

I have been searching for tee-shirts on the Internet this morning and I found some really cool tee-shirts.
Here are some that I thought that were cute, funny and true:
Some of them are pictures of what's on them because I couldn't find the pictures of them on tee-shirts.
Here is one that I thought was not cute, not funny but mean:

Trees
Today at my school, at recess my friend started to rip bark off a tree. My friends and I told him to stop but he didn't. Then, at the other side of the field was a dead baby bird. The friend said he didn't see the dead bird, but we pointed it out to him. Then we saw a feather on the ground. We knew that the dead bird had been carried around. Then the same friend came along with a piece of bark that he said he found on the ground. We didn't believe him.

Cats and Birds
Yesterday I went swimming in my friends freezing pool, and when we all got out, her cat had a baby bird and was holding it by the neck! We saved it, and we put it in an abandoned nest in a pretty high tree so we really hope her cat can't get up there. It's not bad to have a cat, but try to keep it indoors most of the time.
The National Audubon Society says 100 million birds a year fall prey to cats. The American Bird Conservancy says 500 million birds are killed each year by cats — about half by pets and half by wild cats.
I didn't know birds need this much help.

Veggies Rock!!!
I am a vegetarian because:1.I LOVE animals 2.I think animals should live freely 3.Animals are friends NOT food.
This is a life of a cow:
A calf is born.
Mom gets taken away.
She dies.
The calf grows up.
The calf has a calf.
Grown calf gets taken away.
Killed.
That is the life cycle of a cow.
Really I don't want to eat animal blood. A lot of cows, pigs, chickens, and even lambs get killed for food. I know that we need to eat to survive, but there are a lot of other foods that do not have animals in them. So eat those!!!

"Earth Feeling the Heat" by Brenda Z. Guiberson
Yesterday the school librarian read our class a book called "Earth Feeling the Heat". It really made me think about how much animals need our help because of how we pollute the world. I learned that even flies have trouble surviving! Because of global warming, the icebergs are melting and polar bears are suffering. In the book a polar bear hunting a seal fell through a broken iceberg and drowned. Is this how animals should be suffering because of our human actions? Think about how many people are using gallons and gallons of gas today.
At the end of the book Brenda Z. Guiberson says we can help the animals by using less energy. Here are some of her suggestions:
"Eat less meat. Raising animals, such as chicken and cows, uses more energy than growing plants." I am a vegetarian from birth. A lot of my friends are pescatarians and flexatarians now!
"Carry a reusable bag when shopping." That's easy!
"Turn off lights and appliances when you leave a room." I had to train myself to do this too. If I can do it you can!
"Plant trees, especially those native to your area. Trees absorb carbon dioxide."
We planted five trees in our backyard last year. 4 dogwoods and 1 redbud.
